Chicks with Picks, Beginner Wednesday Class

Chicks with Picks, Beginner Wednesday Class

If you have always wanted to learn how to play the guitar, now is the time to sign up for Beginner Chicks with Picks. The Beginner course is an introduction to the fundamentals of the acoustic guitar: including open chords, strumming, rhythm patterns, and tablature. Students will learn a variety of songs in a fun and supportive environment. Suitable for 18+ years.

Sue Stearns grew up in a musical family with a house full of pianos, drums, trumpets and guitars. She has been playing the guitar for over 40 years, and has been a member of the local Rock band Still Smokin’ since 2001. Still Smokin’ opened for the Pemberton Music Festival, and performed on the Whistler Live Stage at the 2010 Paralympic Games. In 2003, Sue founded the Chicks with Picks at the Pemberton Community Center and she has now coached over 275 students. Sue believes playing the guitar should be fun! Her teaching method focuses on playing songs to learn the basics of guitar, and students will see tangible results.
