Adult Beginner Percussion & Hand Drumming
Have a passion for rhythm? Try your hand at Latin and African beats on percussion instruments and hand drums. This course is ideal for beginners who want to learn basic rhythms, syncopation, and how to keep the beat. The class introduces the four families of percussion instruments: shakage, hand drums, melodic instruments and ostinato keepers. After getting comfortable playing patterns on these instruments the class will put them all together into Latin and African grooves. Students will also learn how to tastefully join in on a jam – because there’s more to life than the egg shaker! Bring hand drums and percussion instruments if you have them. Suitable for ages 16+ years.
